I am a student in the 9th standard studying under the CBSE curriculum. I live in Mumbai. During the past recent weeks, I have been searching for a good tutor to teach me Maths and Science. I find these subjects to be very difficult. My aim is to clear the JEE exams. I did what any student of my age does. I searched for tutors on the internet. I got many results and was surprised to find so many people offering tuitions near me.
I found tutors for both Maths and Science. I had no issues understanding the description and requirements for enrolling in Maths tuition classes. But what confused me was the descriptions of Science tuition classes. Some have said Science tuition, while others have divided Science into three categories. Tuition is being offered in individual components of Science. I score far in Chemistry, but my knowledge of Physics is poor. Tuitions near me are affecting my ability to decide on a particular tutor. That is when I stumbled upon tuition centres.
Some things I found out about tuition centres are that they take care of many subjects and provide good learning environments – almost like a school classroom! While individual tutors might always provide these facilities, tuition centres are designed to help us in many ways – starting from teaching, helping with homework and school assessments and counselling us on many important topics and issues. You might wonder why this guy is reading out these things – a private tutor can do just the same.
What one might miss by deciding to opt to learn from a private tutor is the opportunity to learn from peers. It is always fun to study with a group of friends. They might be from the same school as mine, but they will be learning the same concepts as me. Moreover, it is fun to see students belonging to which school are doing well. It is like a competition. It is a place to know new people and their abilities and interests. We can figure out what the rest of the world is like. It is a variation from our daily routine at school, and that really encourages me to learn more.
Finding a tuition centre close to our homes is very important. Once we find a tutor/tuition centre near us that is both affordable in terms of money and time, we can be relaxed about our study schedules. Nearby tuition classes are necessary for effective learning. I do not know how the rest of my friends feel, but I personally prefer a tuition centre to a private tutor. Seeing others studying around me motivates me to study more.
Finding nearby tuition classes is not that difficult. As you search for tuition classes near you, note the location or save it on Google Maps. Remember to research the tuition centre/tutor before you save it on your Google Maps. Find out if it offers tuition for the subjects you are looking for. Find out if the timings and fees are reasonable for you. Also, do not forget to check out their assessment policies. More practice and more assessments mean good preparation for exams in the future. Last but not least is the availability of notes. Notes are necessary to revise and remember the important points related to any concept. These are small capsules that will help us crack the upcoming exams with ease and comfort.Â
So, after you save the locations of these tutors/tuition centres, pinpoint your location on Google Maps and find out the distance of your home/locality from the selected locations. Lesser distances might seem the better choice for you. But that is not the case necessarily. You have to look for easy availability of transport from your place to these locations. Look for bus stops, metro routes and availability of three-wheeler vehicles near both your home and the location of the reach by riding in less amount of time. Also, your preference should be roads with less traffic and bicycle-friendly.
I hope my suggestions and research help you find your dream tutor or tuition centre soon. We are at a crucial stage of school education. The following year will be all about our first board exam. So, it is important to clear all our doubts and problems in any subject before we move to the higher classes. And do not forget – clearing JEE is our goal.
