Your job was announced shortly when Dutch Bros launched its IPO. Since you are Dutch Bros’ first CTO, What is your role when the company grows?
It’s impossible to go public as a company unless the technology is at the heart of your work.
As we look to expand to come, technology will need to play a larger role in ensuring that experiences are smooth and communication seamless. The mission I have been assigned is to preserve and protect Our culture while we become larger and expand the technology ecosystem surrounding our employees.

We’ve observed that the main reason why many people return for more visits to Dutch Bros is because of the chance to chat with our baristas.
What is the role of technology?
My job is to help the team perform what they are best at. Technology within the shop can be made more efficient and automated within this tiny space so that our employees can concentrate more on the customer’s needs.
Additionally, HR has technology that employees can use to control their health benefits and their personal information for the company. These could be improved to provide lower friction for the end user.

We’re looking to use technology as often as we can but in a manner that is never a hassle for our users.
