The domestically developed Wing Loong-2H meteorological UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) on Saturday was successfully deployed for the first time in the western region of Guizhou Province for rainmaking purposes.
The operation marks the official commencement of large-scale UAV-normalized rainmaking operations in Guizhou, which play a constructive role in drought-relief, energy supply guarantee, forest fire prevention and ecological restoration.
During this critical period of spring plowing preparation, the demand for agricultural drought relief and reservoir water storage increases, making it urgent to conduct sustained and targeted rainmaking operations.
The operation lasted nearly five hours, covering areas including Bijie, Liupanshui and Anshun in the province. Subsequent operations will focus on key areas such as food production areas, ecological restoration zones and key river basins.
These can effectively alleviate the influences of drought-related weather disasters and create favorable conditions for spring agricultural production. Meanwhile, they will enhance forest fire prevention and disaster reduction capabilities.
