Itinerary
Meet our team representatives in new Delhi. They will give you a brief introduction about the tour of leh ladakh bike trip and retire for the night in delhi. Also we will allot you bikes so you can check if the bike is upto the mark.
Day 1
Start your ride early in the morning. You will be heading to chandigarh which is 260 km from delhi and takes 5 hours to reach. eat a delicious breakfast in murthal 69 km from delhi, after that you will be passing through panipat, karnal, kurukshetra and chandigarh. check into hotels and retire for the night.
Day 2
You will be riding till manali. a 280 km journey and riding along with river beas is so heart fulfilling. start your ride early in the morning as it is a 9 hour journey. first you will be rolling in punjab in the initial hours then you will enter in himachal pradesh. you will be crossing bilaspur and mandi followed by kullu and then straight to manali. you will be elevating to 2050 m on day2.
Day 3
A 140 km to jispa from manali to solang valley and rohtang pass. It will take 8 hours and elevate you to 3200 m. start your ride early because you will be crossing Rohtang Pass via atal tunnel which will give you access to Lahaul Spiti district. the landscape will totally change from here the lush green meadows and forest will change into arid barren land. you will get a glimpse of the cold desert just after this tunnel. reach the jispa campsite and rest for the night.
Day 4
Today is a 90 km ride towards sarchu. It will be the shortest distance in your whole tour but it will take 6 hours. Keep your body hydrated because you will be elevating to 4290 m and it will be an adrenaline rush as the road will get steeper till baralacha pass at 4890 m. before reaching Sarchu your high altitude road will join Tsarap river flowing rapidly in the valley, raging mountains. After reaching Sarchu, prepare for an uncomfortable sleep at the top of the world.
Day 5
Head towards leh, a 250 km ride which will take 8 hours. start as early as possible. There will be many hairpin bends that look like roads, at one place there will be 21 bends in just 7 km. you will cross at least two high altitude passes of more than 5000 m high followed by a plain area for 45 km. you will be joining indus river which will remark your journey that you are close to leh. you will stay at hotels in leh.
Day 6
Explores leh on this day. It will be a part of resting too. visit leh market and leh palace which are famous tourist attractions.
Day 7
Heads towards Nubra valley from leh city. Nubra valley is 160 km and its gateway is through Khardung la pass which is the highest motorable road in the world at an altitude of 5359 m. the road to the pass is well maintained till the checkpoint, after the check point it looses rock on one side and the road gets slushy. reaching nubra valley feels like stepping on moon sand as it is all white. retire for the night in nubra valley.
Day 8
Ride to pangong lake, the most awaited day of your journey. Pangong, popularly known as the 3 Idiots shooting point, is situated at an altitude of 4250 m. It is a 260 km ride which will take 8 hours. The stunning blue colour of the lake will make you realise the real beauty of ladakh. you will be resting in the campsite near the lake.
Day 9
Heads back from pangong to leh via chang la pass which is the third highest motorable road at an altitude of 5360 m. 150 km of distance will be covered in 5 hours. you will be visiting many monasteries on your way back to leh.
Day 10
Ride 220 km to kargil from leh on leh srinagar highway. The roads till Kargil are well maintained and it will be a smooth ride. witness lamayuru, the highest located monastery in the region. you will cross two passes in a day till kargil. admire the picturesque landscapes on your way.
Day 11
Ride to srinagar via dras and sonmarg. a 202 km journey which will be so pleasant in the greenery of kashmir. you will be staying in srinagar for the night.
Day 12
Ride to pathankot, a 330 km journey which will take you through the magnificent landscapes of jammu and kashmir. stay overnight in pathankot
Day 13
Wake up as early as possible and you will be heading towards new delhi which is 485 km from pathankot.
This 13 day bike trip to Ladakh will make you cherish for a lifetime.
